More Facts Less Facts

Annapurna circuit trek is one of the most stimulating trek with great scenery, diverse culture and well established teahouses. The trek goes around the Annapurna massif jagged with spectacular peaks including the 10th highest in the world, the Annapurna I (8,091 m). The route navigates from the southern lush green valleys to the arid alpine land in the north of Himalaya coming back down to southern foothills. Landscape and culture changes drastically from Hindu dominant cosmopolitan villages to hardcore Tibetan Buddhist villages those are much more intact than Tibet under Chinese influence. The trail winds through Marshyangdi valley and crosses the high pass of 5,416 m at Throng La coming down to Kaligandaki valley with view of snow peaks from Dhaulagiri range.

Trek Options :

Tilicho Lake Trek :

Extend your trek by 3 days to explore the pristine alpine lake of Tilicho at 4,919 m. The 4 km by 1.2 km lake is one of the popular trekking as well as pilgrimage destinations. The lake is mentioned in the Hindu epic Ramayana as Kagbhusandi Lake. Kakabhusundi was one of the immortals in Hindu mythology who briefed the 'Ramayana' to the Garuda, king of birds at the place.

Those looking for more adventure can cross the Mesokanto La pass (5,469 m) to the Kali Gandaki valley.

Ghorepani and Annapurna base camp :

For those having more time can also drive down the Kali Gandaki valley after Thorong La pass and then trek to Ghorepani and further to Annapurna base camp. This will take about 18 to 20 days in total

    An unforgetable Adventure

    Rating:

My partner and I did a customized 15-day itinerary of the Annapurna Circuit with iTour Nepal and it was one of the best trips of our lives! Rabi was extremely helpful from day one, from assisting us in building the itinerary to allowing us to customize to our needs and even helping us in booking flights along the way! Unfortunately one of our bags never arrived from Canada, and Rabi was very kind to let us borrow his backpack so that we didn’t have to buy all new stuff. When we got back from the trek, Rabi and his wife hosted us at their beautiful homestay for the day while we waited for our flight and really supported us through an unfortunate bout of food poisoning by running out to get us medication and driving us to the airport. We can’t recommend Rabi’s company highly enough- he is very knowledgeable of the area, thoughtful, flexible, generous, and will go out of his way to make your trip unforgettable. Our only regret is not staying at his family’s homestay- Kopila’s Homestay- when in Kathmandu. Next time! Thanks so much to Rabi and his wonderful family!
