A journey to Sherpa heartland

The Everest cultural trek begins with a picturesque flight to Lukla, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey. From Lukla, the trail meanders through a vibrant valley, where you'll pass through delightful Sherpa villages on the way to Namche Bazaar. Nestled at an altitude of 3,440 meters, Namche serves as a pivotal point that connects three distinct valleys within the Everest National Park.

The Tibetan Market

On Saturdays, the bustling market here comes alive as Sherpas from nearby villages gather to trade goods, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Not to be missed is the Tibetan market, showcasing unique items from neighboring Tibet. To fully immerse yourself in this charming locale, an additional day in Namche allows for rest and exploration.

A day hike to Shyangboche ridge and Khumjung village

On your rest day, take a hike to the Shyangbohce ridge, where you’ll be rewarded with unobstructed views of majestic peaks including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Thamserku. Afterward, indulge in some local flavor with lunch at Khumjung village, home to the intriguing 'Yeti Skull' preserved in the local monastery, as well as the renowned Sir Edmund Hillary School

  • Day 01:Fly to Lukla (35 mints) and trek to Phakding (2,750 m)

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01:Fly to Lukla (35 mints) and trek to Phakding (2,750 m) Your guide will come pick you up and together you will drive to the airport to fly to Lukla. The 35 minutes flight is a scenic thrill with a view of snow peaks east of Kathmandu. The trail from Lukla winds along the mountainside through charming Tibetan Buddhist Sherpa villages and alpine vegetation. View of Numbur Himal and Kusum Kangaru greets us at several viewpoints. The four hours walk from Lukla to Phakding more or less follows the contour with quick ups and downs about about 100 m. 
  • Day 02:Trek 6 hrs to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) The trail winds along the Bhote Koshi River upstream, climbing gradually. After about an hour's walk, we will get the magnificent view of Mt Thamsherku. After about one and half hours of walking we will arrive at the Jorsale village, where we officially enter the Everest national park. After about half an hour of walking along the river bank, we arrive at a confluence of two rivers at the base of the climb to Namche bazaar. A two hours of steep climb brings us to a horse show shaped town of Namche bazaar overlooking Mt Thamsherku and Kongde Ri. 
  • Day 03:Khumjung and Shyangboche day tour About 100 m climb to a ridge from the Namche, unveils an enchanting view of snow peaks during the sunrise. One can also see Mt Everest . Lhotse and Nuptse. After breakfast, hike about 400 m to Shyangboche to have an overview of the deep valleys and peaks soaring high up. Khumjung village at the base of the most sacred mountain Khumbila is less changed, Sherpa village with their farms, monastery and Sir Edmund Hilary School. Explore the village, have lunch with a Sherpa family and visit the local monastery where they have a scalp believed to be of Yeti. 
  • Day 04:Trek back to Phakding Exploration of Namche and Syangboche offers one of the best views of Khumbu Himal which includes Mt Everest and Lhotse. This is also where the largest high altitude Sherpa villages are located. Tibetans in their typical outfit bring trinkets and other items to sell in Namche adding additional cultural traits to it. After capturing the mountains one more time during the sunrise, we head down to Phakding.
  • Day 05:Trek back to Lukla We will follow the same trail back to Lukla and reconfirm our flight for the next day.
  • Day 06:Fly back to Kathmandu As per the flight schedule, our represent will receive you from the Kathmandu airport and drive to the hotel.
